Lansdowne college started in 1997.
The Course, which is a Diploma Course, starts each September and consists of three years of part time weekend based training.
Lectures are held one weekend each month, making the programme manageable alongside work and other commitments.
As a second-year student, you can re-attend first-year lectures. In third year, you can revisit both first- and second-year teaching weekends.
The programme is highly practical, with real patients regularly attending for treatment throughout the training.
Students gain valuable clinical experience by treating patients under the supervision of experienced practitioners.
The more teaching weekends you attend, the greater your exposure to real clients, clinical cases, and hands-on learning opportunities.
The college's goal is to bridge the gap between student and practitioner, helping you build confidence and competence throughout your training.

The College also offers a strong Western Medical module and that knowledge is exam tested leading to the awarding of a Certificate in Clinical Medicine in addition to the Diploma in Acupuncture.
There is also an active Clinical Club which is open to all acupuncturists and students of acupuncture
The total fee for the three years of training is €8,000 and is paid in instalments with the first instalment due after the completion of two full teaching weekends.
The reason for that is it is important to experience the course in action before committing.
All teachings at Lansdowne are ‘open’ so anybody exploring acupuncture as a career is very welcome to join us for a class and meet current students and lecturers.
Upon graduating, graduates are encouraged to join one of the professional registers that represents acupuncturists and this gives recognition from the various health insurers.
Everybody who ever qualified at Lansdowne has successfully joined a professional register without exception.
